The raised fist says it all: Bruce Springsteen's 2026 "Land of Hopes and Dreams" Tour is serious, defiant, a pilgrimmage from Minneapolis to Washington where "no kings" will be tolerated and the power of the people will surely be emphasized.
Last evening, I had the opportunity to speak again about all things Bruce, including the upcoming tour, with Jesse Jackson, lifelong "Boss" fan and creator of the "Set Lusting Bruce" podcast, now in its 11th year.
If you're a Springsteen fan (or even if you're not), check out our conversation, now available on YouTube for MJ's take on Bruce's music, his politics, the Catholic influences in his troubador-esque music, and the potential impact of this spring's musical journey. Jesse and I also chat about the recent Springsteen biopic, why it wasn't included in this year's Oscar race, and how movies like Sinners have an integral connection to American roots music.
Here's the YouTube link:
And, for more on Bruce, here's a previous podcast discussing "Deliver Me From Nowhere," the Oscars and more.
Enjoy!
MJ's regular movie reviews will return soon.
